Remembering Gerald F. DeMarco
Architect, Entrepreneur, Teacher & Friend.
Gerald Francis Demarco was born in Copiague, NY on December 5, 1939. He is remembered by family, loved ones, students and former associates for his integrity, genuine spirit, confidence and kind character.
After graduating from Farmingdale High School in 1957, he pursued his passion for architecture by earning advanced degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1962 and Princeton University in 1964.
His innovative design skills & confident problem-solving approach led him to form a small firm amongst friends in Pennsylvania in 1972. Shortly after, he was offered an architect position in Florida. Leading him to obtain his MBA in architecture in 1979 & re-establish his firm, DeMarco & Associates, in 1981. Where he built trust & nurtured relationships with communities, business owners, contractors, developers, & homeowners.
For over 50 years Jerry’s legacy and designs can be seen in the Scranton area, such as Adams Plaza and Olive Place. As well as Miami, such as the historic Lincoln Theatre and Geralda’s Plaza.
