Our Story
In 1972, architect Gerald F. DeMarco turned his dream of ownership into a lasting legacy. From humble beginnings, Jerry launched his first architectural practice alongside friends in Pennsylvania before relocating to Florida in 1979. There, he pursued new opportunities in architecture, earned his MBA, and in 1981 re-established his company as DeMarco & Associates.
For over 50 years, Jerry’s designs & solutions impacted cities across Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, and the Caribbean. In 2020, Jerry passed his torch to a younger group of associates to keep his legacy alive.
Today, GFD Engitects is a women-owned, veteran-owned, & minority-owned design-build firm led by Jacqueline James, Ph.D., P.E.
